Chris Shellis - Borgozie Watches

Chris came to Street UK for help when he was launching his new range of bespoke watches. He designs and manufactures all of his timepieces; they are all manufactured using only the best precious stones and metals. He freely admits that whilst he can create a fantastic product, marketing and finance are not his area of expertise.

After being turned down by his local bank when attempting to raise funds for his launch, he turned to Street UK who provided Chris with advice in the marketing of his new products and the finance to do it. Since then Chris has had a second loan to further expand his business and employ promotion staff.

Chris says "My relationship with Street UK is very important, they understand my business and have offered me a credit line that I can readily tap into as and when my business expands or I want to diversify into new products or explore new opportunities".

Fay O'Farrell - Bar 6 Café

When Fay first contacted Street UK she was providing catering services to corporate companies with buffets for meetings and local events. At this time she had been working from home, however her expanding business had started to outgrow her home kitchen. Fay needed to look for commercial premises and was offered an opportunity to take on the running of Bar 6 at Edgbaston cricket ground.

Street UK provided support for Fay by consulting with Edgbaston cricket club and drawing up a plan for her to take over the running of the café. Street also provided finance to purchase key equipment necessary to run the café and further develop the corporate catering side of her business.

Fay Says "Street were there to help me at a very critical time in the development of my business, I highly recommend them to any small business''

Noor Daraz - New Digbeth Tyres

Noor Daraz took over the family business five years ago and then spotted a wonderful opportunity for growth and development. He could buy tyres from China at half the price he was currently paying and decided it was an opportunity he couldn't afford to miss.

But a container load of them costs a lot of money and he needed financial help. He said: "I spotted an article in the Evening Mail about Street UK and decided to ask them for help.

"Not only were they forthcoming with the money, they also took a keen interest in the business offering help and advice. They didn't just hand over the money and say 'get on with it'.

"Ever since I have recommended other people to use their services because they give you confidence to try and grow and develop.

"Not only are we buying tyres at the right price but we are now pretty knowledgeable about importing goods.

"My brother went out to China and dealt directly with the manufacturers and we have been running very smoothly ever since," he added.

Noor has since sold more than half the tyres and is now making a profit on what he sells. He has also developed a fibre glass taxi panel which is now selling along with vehicle maintenance services.

Peter Sheard - Builders

Business had really taken off for Peter, he had won a major new contract and orders were coming in at a rapid rate, too fast in fact. The business was in serious danger of overtrading, Peter realised he needed help, he tried the bank and was refused, that's when he called in Street UK.

Street UK was able to provide Peter with valuable advice and organise a credit line so that Peter could purchase labour and materials to fulfil all of his current orders and further develop his business.

Peter Said "Street UK were very professional in there approach, they analysed my business and then organised bridging finance, they have helped me stay in business and exploit a major opportunity to expand my business. I have no hesitation in recommending there services to other businesses".

"My relationship with Street UK is very important, they understand my business and have offered me a credit line that I can readily tap into as and when my business expands or I want to diversify into new products or explore new opportunities".
